Monday night English Support Group talked about how to spot Narcissistic Abuse.

Narcissistic abusers do not love themselves, they are driven by placing shame onto someone else. Narcissists  often are placing blame on others repeating words such as stupid, worthless, telling their significant  other that no one will like them, tell them they don’t deserve to be with them(The abuser);

Narcissism exists on a continuum. Ranging from ignoring your feelings to violent aggression; as well as not taking responsibility for their behavior(placing the blame on others). Narcissists are often described as a person is egotistical, self serving and does not acknowledge the feelings of others. Other identifiers of narcissists are: expectations of superior treatment from others, needing constant admiration from others, pompous and arrogant behavior, intense jealousy of others and belief that others are just as jealous of them, a sense of entitlement to special treatment and to obedience from others.

If you are a victim of narcissistic abuse or any other form of abuse it is important  : clearly identify the abuse, build a support system, and learn how to strengthen and protect yourself.
