To kick our year off, we wanted to express our gratitude to the men and women in Law Enforcement who are dedicated to keeping our communities safe.
Each year we are sent referrals from various law enforcement agencies for clients who are in need of our agency’s services. Law enforcement officers are the first responders to many domestic violence and sexual assault incidents. They are often the first contact a survivor has, so saying thank you to them for their time and efforts is something we take seriously. Without their assistance after these traumatic events and their follow up to enforce protection orders, survivors we work with would be at a disadvantage to their abuser.
Our clients rely on law enforcement to provide a barrier from their abuser, to give them a sense of safety and control in a situation that is chaotic and stressful. It’s because of dedicated law enforcement officers that we all are able to sleep a little more soundly at night.
We spent some time handing out goodies to law enforcement agencies in our coverage area to show them a token of our appreciation. Popcorn and snacks can’t begin to cover the depth of our gratitude, but it’s a tasty way to start.
