October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month! Statistics show that 3 women are murdered every day by their partner. Bright Horizons is hosting two candlelight vigils to mourn those who have died at the hands of their abuser, reach out to those who silently suffer, and celebrate those who have survived and escaped abuse. There will be a vigil in Norfolk at St. John’s Lutheran Church (1300 W. Benjamin Ave.) October 2nd at 7 P.M. There will also be a vigil in O’Neill at Ford Park (200-298 N. Jefferson St.) October 3rd at 7 P.M. There will be a couple of special singers, speakers, a survivor story, refreshments and more. All ages are welcome.
We hope to see you there!
