DESCRIPTION:. \nFor all the runners\, joggers\, walkers\, bikers\, etc. here is what we can do to raise awareness and funds for ending domestic violence and to show our support for Hailey’s son and family.\nPlease walk/jog/run/bike/etc. at your favorite place. \nOur community lost Hailey on 7/24/2020 to domestic violence (DV.) DESCRIPTION:About Our Event\n\n\nProject Homeless Connect Norfolk is a one-day\, one-stop event where individuals in need can access a multitude of service providers all under one roof. What normally would take months to accomplish can be completed in one day. From medical and dental providers to mental health practitioners\, to housing assistance programs\, our goal is to help individuals get the resources and services necessary to build their life again and move in a positive direction. \nProject Homeless Connect Norfolk will be held on Friday\, June 22\, 2018 at Norfolk Senior High School in Norfolk\, NE. The event will take place from 12:00-5:00pm and the school is located at 801 Riverside Blvd. Everybody is welcome to attend\, although individuals 18 and under will need to bring their parent or guardian with them in order to receive services. There are no income guidelines\, but it is a first-come\, first-served event. Please be prepared to wait in line outside\, as we anticipate a large crowd. \nEach individual entering Project Homeless Connect Norfolk will be assigned a Navigator\, a trained volunteer that will take them through the entire event. For the safety of everybody\, individuals will not be allowed to go through any of the event unattended. Identification is not required\, but individuals who wish to enter Project Homeless Connect Norfolk MUST register their information before entering the event. It’s a great incentive for staff but there’s many ways to contribute.  In past years\, several businesses got creative and changed the concept to fit their needs better. O’Neill Elementary School\, for example\, sold Denim Days coupons to teachers for $5 each. The teacher then could use those coupons to wear jeans on any weekday they chose. Some businesses set out a donation can for customers to throw their loose change into. Some businesses donate a set amount each year.
